If that actually happened in canon, it would be incredibly cruel, especially to him.
I'd imagine Emerald not just using her semblance, but actually wearing the outfit too. He thinks its Pyrrha, then the semblance drops, revealing Emerald, leaving him wide open for a stab or a shot at point-blank range.
